About the contest:

Tech Challenge is a unique gamified application to deliver contests on stand-alone web application. The challenge is targeted towards technology professionals and tech students. This is designed to identify the best programmers in campus and working professionals across the industry.

There are different contests that the users can participate in:

Coding contest:

  1. Languages Accepted: Users can solve the challenge by writing a code in any of the available programming languages depending on which skill you are attempting. The contest will also contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  2. Levels in Coding Contest: There will be 3 levels for the coding contest. 2 levels will be launched simultaneously. Final level (3rd) will be a on-premise event launched at a specific date and time. Top 5 coders from the Leader board will travel to the One of the Capgemini campuses to participate in the Finale. Coding problem & MCQs will be timed. Time taken per level will be used to calculate your position on the Leader board.

Here are the rules for the Coding contest:

  • Level – 1: MCQ
    • There will be 25 MCQs in Level – 1
    • Correct answer for each MCQ will give you 4 points
    • Maximum time allotted for 25 MCQs is 30minutes
    • Each user will get 2 attempts per level to improve their scores. The highest score from both the attempts will be considered as your final score for that level.
    • Minimum score of 40% is required to move to Level 2.
    • There will be no negative marking in any of the levels.
  • Level 2: MCQs + Coding
    • For MCQs in Level – 2:
      • There will be 25 MCQs in Level – 2
      • Correct answer for each MCQ will give you 4 points
      • Maximum time allotted for 25 MCQs is 30minutes
    • For Coding in Level – 2:
      • You will get 24 hours for 1 coding challenge. Once you start the level you will have to submit your final code within 24hours
    • Top 3 scorers from the Coding Leader board will enter in to Finale
    • There will be 1 Coding Problem which will have 10 Test Cases of different complexity:
      • Default test case
      • Basic level test case
      • Boundary level test case
      • Correctness test case
      • Complex test case.
    • Each user will get 2 attempts per level to improve their scores. The highest score from both the attempts will be considered as your final score for that level.
    • Each correct test case while solving the coding challenge will fetch the user 10 points & 4 points for each correct MCQ.
    • There will be no negative marking in any of the levels.
    • Total score will be the cumulative score of all the 2 levels in each contest i.e. Level 1 + Level 2.
    • Scoring Logic of Level X is as follows:
      • (Number of MCQs Correctly Answered x 4) = A
      • Total Number of Test Cases Answered Correctly x 10 = B
      • Total Score = A + B

Gratifications for Coding contest:

  • 1st Prize – Cash Prize worth Rs. 30,000/-.
  • 2nd Prize – Cash Prize worth Rs. 20,000/-
  • Early bird prizes (1st 10 players to complete Level 2) win Gift Voucher of Rs. 500/- each

Tech Aptitude, Oracle DBA, Linux Admin & Network security- Only Online- No on-premise Final

  1. There will be 3 levels in the above mentioned contest. First 2 levels will be launched simultaneously and 3rd level will be launched on the day of the Finale.
  2. There will be 25 MCQs in Level – 1 & 2
  3. Correct answer for each MCQ will give you 4 points
  4. Maximum time allotted for each level is 30minutes
  5. A user has to answer 40% of the questions correctly to unlock the next level.
  6. Each user will get 2 attempts per level to improve their scores. The highest score from both the attempts will be considered as your final score for that level.
  7. There will be no negative marking in any of the levels.
  8. The final level for these contests will be held online
  9. Winners of Tech Aptitude Contest will not qualify for the Direct L2 interview.
  10. A user has to answer 40% of the questions correctly to unlock the next level.

Theme specific contest (Pega, Hybris, Adobe CQ5, Salesforce, Blockchain DB, Data Science, Data Integration)

  1. The first 2 levels will be online and the Final level (3rd level) will be launched at a specific date and time and this will be offline coding challenge event wherein top 5 coders from the Level 2 will be invited to one of the Capgemini Campus.
  2. All above contests can have a combination of MCQ+Coding contests.
  3. Level 1 will be a MCQ contest and Level 2 will be a MCQ + Coding contest, both will have equal weightage of 100 points each.
  4. A user has to answer 40% of the questions correctly to unlock the next level. Each user will get 2 attempts per level to improve their scores across all levels. The highest score from both the attempts will be considered as your final score for that level.
  5. Coding problem & MCQs will be timed. Time utilised for answering will be accounted for to tabulate the leader board.
  6. There will be no negative marking in any of the levels.

Here are the rules for the Theme contest:

Level – 1: MCQ

  • There will be a total 25 Multiple choice question for which 30 minutes allotted to complete the Level 1.
  • In case of the MCQs, each correct answer will fetch the user 4 points. All questions are compulsory.

Level 2: MCQs + Coding

  • Level 2 has 25 MCQs & 1 coding problem for which 150 minutes allotted.
  • Each correct test case while solving the coding challenge will fetch the user 10 points.
  • There will be 1 Coding Problem which will have 10 Test Cases of different complexity:
    • Default test case
    • Basic level test case
    • Boundary level test case
    • Correctness test case
    • Complex test case.
  • Total score will be the cumulative score of all the 2 levels in each contest i.e. Level 1 + Level 2 for Leader board.
  • Scoring Logic of Level X is as follows:
    • (Number of MCQs Correctly Answered x 4) = A
    • Total Number of Test Cases Answered Correctly x 10 = B
    • Total Score = A + B

Tie breaker logic for all contests

For challenges that have only MCQs in all the Levels:

  1. The user with highest marks (sum of both levels) will be ranked higher.
  2. Point 1 being equal, the user who has taken lesser time to answer the MCQs of level 3 will be ranked higher.
  3. Point 2 being equal, the user who has taken lesser time to answer the MCQs of level 2 will be ranked higher.
  4. Point 3 being equal, the user who has taken lesser time to answer the MCQs of level 1 will be ranked higher.
  5. Point 4 being equal, user who has taken lesser time in submission of Level 3 will be ranked higher.
  6. Subsequently, user's time taken in submission for Level 2 and then Level 1 will be considered to identify higher ranker.
  7. Lastly, the rule of early bird will be considered to identify the higher ranker.

Let's take an example in order to understand tie breaker logic for other challenges that have a combination of MCQ and Coding problems:

We have two users who have got equal marks -

LEVEL 1 CHECK - The user with higher marks in Coding Problem will be ranked higher. For example A and B has got following marks in subsequent levels. User A will be ranked higher than user B.

For instance A and B both have got equal marks in coding and MCQ levels.

In this case following levels of checking will be done in order to determine the higher ranked user.

LEVEL 2 CHECK (Attempt level check)  For instance A has scored 90 marks in first attempt and B  has scored 90 marks in second attempt. In this case A will be the higher ranker As A got 90 marks in one attempt and B got 90 marks in two attempts.

LEVEL 3 CHECK (Code execution time) In case there is a tie in both LEVEL 1 CHECK and LEVEL 2 CHECK i.e. both A and B has scored 90 marks in same number of attempt. Now execution time of the code will be taken into consideration. For instance A s code takes 10 seconds for execution and B s code takes 12 seconds for execution. In this case A will be the higher ranker. Level 3 Check will be skipped for contests that have only MCQs as there is no execution time in case of MCQs.

LEVEL 4 CHECK (Time taken in submission)  In case there is a tie in LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3 CHECK. Now total time taken by user in completing round 1 will be taken into consideration. For instance A takes 25 minutes for completing his level and B takes 30 minutes for completing his level. In this case A will be the higher ranker.

LEVEL 5 CHECK (Participation time)  In case there is a tie in LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, LEVEL 3 and LEVEL 4, the rule of early bird winner will be taken into consideration. For instance A and B fulfils all the criteria of Level 1,2,3,4. But A has participated and completed his level before B, then in this case A will be the higher ranker.
